I've ported quite a few emulators to RISC OS recently which hopefully I'll
be able to release in the near future. I was wondering if there any others
that anyone would like to see ported to RISC OS?

These are the ones I've got working so far. All have playable frame rates for games
on a Pandaboard.

Hatari 1.7.0 (Atari ST emulator)

Mednafon 0.8.D (Multi system emulator) http://www.riscos.info/packages/EmulationDetails.html#Mednafen
Atari Lynx
GameBoy (Color)
GameBoy Advance
NES
PC Engine(TurboGrafx 16)
SuperGrafx
Neo Geo Pocket (Color)
WonderSwan (Color)
Sega Megadrive

E-UAE 0.8.29-WIP4 (Amiga Emulator)

BeebEm 0.0.13 (BBC and Master Emulator) http://www.cgransden.co.uk/emulation.html
Mame 0.145 (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) http://www.riscos.info/packages/EmulationDetails.html#Mame

Fuse 1.0.0.1 (Spectrum Emulator) http://www.riscos.info/packages/EmulationDetails.html#Fuse
Snes9x 1.53 (SNES Emulator) http://www.riscos.info/packages/EmulationDetails.html#Snes9x

jzIntv 1.0beta3 (Intellivision Emulator) http://www.cgransden.co.uk/emulation.html
stella 3.7.2 (Atari 2600 vcs emulator) http://www.cgransden.co.uk/emulation.html

RetroArch 0.9.6 (Multi-system emulator)
Genesis Plus GX 1.6.0 (Sega Megadrive) http://www.cgransden.co.uk/emulation.html
Prboom 1.6.0 (Doom 1/2)
imame4all 0.37Beta 5 (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator)
VBA 1.0.2 (Gameboy Advance Emulator)
FB Alpha 0.2.97.26 (CPS1 & CPS2 Emulator)

Nice work!

An updated port of VICE would be great!
http://www.viceteam.org/

There is an older version for RISC OS, but it doesn't work on ARMv7 unhappy

Great stuff! I look forward to having a play, particularly with MAME and BeebEm big smile

As all these ports reply on SDL is there any scope for optimisations (e.g. to better utilise newer ARMs or features of BB-xM) to be made to speed them all up? Or is it just a case of rebuilding with newer gcc?

I got VICE 2.2 to compile but it crashes on startup. I'll take another look at it.

Depending on the emulator using gcc 4.6 and targeting armv7 can produce a significant speed up. Plus running on a Pandaboard helps too!

I'd love to see a Gameboy Color or Advance emulator.
Mednafen is now available to download http://www.riscos.info/packages/EmulationDetails.html#Mednafen

It includes a Gameboy/Color/Advance emulator. I've only tested it on a Beagleboard xM and Pandaboard. Anything slower than these may have problems running at full speed.

Anything slower than these
That's... everything else in the RISC OS hardware world.

But good work on these ports! Balloons

You can download a test release of !BeebEm at http://www.cgransden.co.uk/beebem.zip .
Make sure you read the !Help file for instructions on how to load a game. Not all the emulator features are working but it works ok with most of the games I've tried.

It plays at full speed (50fps) on a Pandaboard in the desktop. On a beagleboard Xm to get full speed it needs to be run full screen.

Although unconfirmed it may even be just about playable on a Iyonix or Raspberry Pi.

I'm looking for an Atari 2600 emulator that will work on an A3010 and supports the two built-in joystick ports (which can take Atari 2600 joysticks).

I've added two more emulators to the list,

stella 3.7.2 (Atari 2600 vcs emulator)

mess 0.146 (Multi Emulator Super System)

Test versions of both will be available in the near future.

Worthwhile if only to be able to play Cave Story on RISC OS.

Yes it would and it is. I've only tried the Sega Megadrive emulation so far. I'm getting a constant 60fps on a Pandaboard.
I'll make a test version available shortly.
