Why would anyone want to rights to Wavelength?
Great game, but it works fine on RO4.37
Cheers!

It's one of those games that I've never seen like Flashback and that other one beginning with F or some other letter ;)

Ah yes, I see it ;)

It is nice to see that we can still get hold of the products, at any rate; although £15 for such an old game is a bit steep :|

You remember how Rich wasn't around here for about five months? That's where he was. And all he wanted was to borrow the stapler. :P
Should you call a search party, or should I? :o

No, I'm posting on TIB instead of playing TA, because one of the directors is using Foggy's office ATM. Dashed bad show. It is lunchtime now and everything, don'tcha know?

Wouldn't you know, he turns up this very day? And on the same day there's TV cameras downstairs to do a piece on someone who doesn't even work here any more! (Richard Jelbert borrowing a bit of office space apparently).

Anyway, the news is....

.......

...the man from Imparo, he say yes!

Andrew says that he's fine with any old Eclipse games being released freeware (not PD), so long as Imparo retains copyright - and there's a message in the readme to say as much. Free distribution is okay, no money to be made, blah blah blah.

Now, there's going to be some exceptions:
* Dune II (rights sold to CJE)
* Global Effect (port from another company)
* Xenon 2 (port from another company)
* Anything with James Pond in (port from another company)

Basically, stick to the Tom Cooper stuff and you should be OK.

Right, erm, which first, then? :P And I'll definitely do the web stuff if people want me to (looking good in RO browsers, of course), as I need a break from G&T what with all the arguments recently :|

Actually I was waiting for someone to tell us where we can get copies of the games. No point them being free if we don't have any copies to give away :|

Fire and Ice? I had that for a while but sold it when I was a bit desperate for cash. Shame, because all those little wolf cubs (or whatever they were) following you around was cool.

Anyway I had (and still have) Flashback, between that and Syndicate are some of the ports to the :rpc: that I still play. Great stuff!

Oh not forgetting :ironlord:

And you'd better curry some 32bit versions so I can put my Iyonix to good use :P

Everything by Berty. Especially Hamsters.

Top Banana and Big Bang.
I don't think anyone really knows who wrote Big Bang (and Revolver), except that they were called Psycore. FWICR there were no credits or anything :o

Assuming all these games will be stuffed on an Acorn Arcade sub-domain as usual, may I suggest tartysmart.acornarcade.com? :)

(Which reminds me - we'll also need a copy of Dinosaw to go up there :))

And for those having monitor problems getting the Hamsters demo running (and presumably the full version too), all you need to do is comment out the 'RMLoad Mode120' line in the !Run file, and it should work fine :)

I have DarkWood... BUT it has copy protection requiring the original Disc 1. :|

Have they given us permission to hack the protection out? :o

I have demos of Wavelength, DarkWood and Hamsters, if they're any use. I don't think they work on my RISC PC though. (SA, RO4) I think the DarkWood one, at least, can be started with the cache off.

I can't check right now as I'm at uni.

Is the aim to make them RISC OS 4, RISC OS 5 and SA, 32-bit compatible?

RISC OS 4/SA would be a good starting place. 32bit is still a niche market, and I don't have a machine like that, so you only have to get it working on machines I have access to ;)

OK, I've just plugged in the hard drive from Neil's old A3K (my brother bought it from him circa 1995) and - to its credit - the Iyonix reads it flawlessly.

So, we have:

!WaveDemo
Aggressor
Alderbaran
AsylumDem
BattleChess
BirdOfWar
!Chaos
ChuckRock
Diggers
Dune2
Elite
Fervour
FireBall
FlashBack
Interdictor
Karma
Lemmings
Lemmings2
LotusII
MadProf
Magnetoids
Mig_29
Flag Day
Lander
Meteors
Moonquake
Star3000
Styx
MPockets
Paradroid
SR2000
SWIV
TheHacker
Virt_Golf
XenonDemo
ZoolDemo
AcornDemo
CokeCan
FunkyDemo
Gallop
Gnashers
Hal
WimpWaves
Morph

If you now have the rights to any of these and want me to upload them, tell me how.

I'm sure I've seen DinoSaw ("Tarty smart!";) at some point but I can't seem to find it now :frown:

* Goes off for a mad frenzy of Pro testing *
