Why yes, it has. (Either that or MT)
Luckily I've still got a preview open, so can recover it from the page source. |

The wobbling noise just stopped
This leads me to believe that the fan has also stopped A thermally unstable computing device made stable only by the presence of a physically unreliable cooling device. That's as stupid as dynamic RAM; it's just obvious that it's never going to work! |

Unless you have some other image uploadery thing planned. There's a 'Upload File' option on the left - use that. The path you need is images/posts. |

"it" is "up". However I'm wondering if anyone has the patience to read it all (And whether any of it is any good, of course)
Also, you may need to fix the permissions on a few folders. I tried publishing it using today's date, but got a nasty error
Error making path '../books/2006/10': mkdir ../books/2006/10: Permission denied at lib/MT/FileMgr/Local.pm line 107
And netsurf doesn't support the comment positioning stuff that I stole from the Sonic article
Back to ordinary tables for next time, then.

Excellent. I'll read it in a bit.
The permissions should be fixed now. It was dodgy permissions - Phil Reed had the same problem. |

a) It's an *excellent* piece.
b) It might have been better posted as two parts though - a week apart, say. It's a very long article, and whilst I love long articles, more people might read it if it was in two bits.
c) Write something introducing people to Nethack
d) - write something introducing people to Angband |

When you finally get some money, you should consider watching the first film. Not only because it's good, but also because it works as a standalone product. Unless it hits you in the right spot, that is
The manga is also good if you'd rather read about it. Of course I can't say which is the best, because that's impossible. |

b) It might have been better posted as two parts though - a week apart, say. It's a very long article, and whilst I love long articles, more people might read it if it was in two bits. ...I've not got round to reading it yet. I have it open in a tab, though.
c) Write something introducing people to Nethack
d) - write something introducing people to Angband The definitive introduction to Nethack/Angband already exists. It was published in Acorn User sometime in the 90s, and it is directly responsible for many thousands of wondrous things remaining unfulfilled that I could have achieved had I not wasted so many hours playing Angband. |

9. A recording of the graphics card fan in my computer doing its motorcycle impression. OH GOD PLEASE MAKE IT STOP. AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH
Anyone recommend any good graphics cards with a cooling system that (a) works and (b) doesn't deafen the user? Hmm. My previous card was an nVidia 5800 something, and I put a passive heatsink onto it (Zalman ZM80D-HP), even though the stock fan wasn't so loud at all, I just wanted it even quieter (my case is an Antec P180)... anyway, passive/silent solutions are easy, depends what you're needing the card to do. |

anyway, passive/silent solutions are easy, depends what you're needing the card to do. 1. PCI-E, DVI output 2. Acceptable 3D performance 3. Not overheat/explode/die for at least a year 4. Not make more noise than every other component in the computer put together 5. Preferably fit in my current case (Which means it must sit right next to another PCI card, thus ruling out placing a dedicated fan in the adjacent slot) 6. Not cost the earth.
Is that good enough? |

I have a feeling this is going to be another long article
Maybe I can work out some logical way to split it up - although there's so much stuff to say about the show, and I haven't even rewatched any of the episodes yet to get into the specifics |

Yes
Maybe in a little while, as I've almost finished the introduction to the series & main characters (Almost 2,500 words )
If I had the time to write it, my todo list would probably have an entry entitled 'Write todo list'. But so far I haven't found the time to even do that |

Just carry on, and then do a redraft if neccessary. I always find it helpful at first to just let the words tumble out, and *then* decide what to do with them. It's only then that you can decide whether what you've ended up writing is better than what you intended to write or not. |

But if I keep writing at my current level, the finished thing could easily be 10,000 words
When reallly what I'm after is 1,000 words that have the effect of saying "Watch LEXX" 500 times. |
