(Well, this film could possibly be categorised in parts as having an extremely tenuous link to evolution of the RISC OS GUI... kind of... with a bit of imagination...)
Has anyone else here seen District 9? I watched it last night on DVD - great story (documentary-style in parts). Perhaps not everyone's cup of tea but I appreciated it anyway! |

now have it on Blur-ay. Not ditto. Not that I didn't enjoy the film - I just don't have a player (excluding the PS3). As for DVD, I'm being sensible and trying very hard not to increase my collection to the point where the building collapses. |

...As for DVD, I'm being sensible and trying very hard not to increase my collection to the point where the building collapses. Good idea(l). Let me know if ever you'd like to borrow it. |

It was okay. Nothing special, interesting concept, annoying wobbly cameras (why do Hollywood film-makers have this notion that all documentary cameramen are ill-trained and can't hold a camera without constantly wobbling? Or do they think that we won't believe it's a mock documentary unless it looks wobbly and amateurish? Snobs) and enjoyable as mindless throwaway entertainment, but not worth keeping around for a rewatch. |

I see from the link the film contains bloody violence and pervasive language. Now, the first I understand you might need a warning about, but -
"Oh, it contains spoken words throughout the film? They might be useful to terrorists! BAN IT!" |

So do ya think this was the alien inspiration? Having now watched the (lower budget) short film Alive in Joburg too, I reckon you're right! |

..."Oh, it contains spoken words throughout the film? They might be useful to terrorists! BAN IT!" Perhaps more useful to terrorists than following Four Lions! |
