Interesting "article" about RISC OS that popped up on the beagleboard.org news feed. It's a good candidate for the most factually inaccurate article about RISC OS ever, and was either written by someone who has no knowledge of Acorn/RISC OS (and no intention of doing even a basic amount of research about it) or generated automatically by a machine. Judging by the fact that the 'about' page of the site says that they're about SEO and internet marketing, I guess they don't really care whether their content is correct or not as long as it boosts their page rank. So with that in mind, here's a copy of the article text and a URL for you to manually paste together if you feel so inclined:
Acorn’ RISC OS Is a Successful British Technology
Ever heard of “Acorn” – The British brand name for Notebooks? I believe some of you have and a lot of you haven’t. The good thing for Acorn is that their products are now being sold as separate entities. The company doesn’t release fully loaded Notebooks, instead it relies on releasing components, or machines that contribute to a high stream of profits.
Recently, Acorn launched RISC OS, one of the most successful British technologies ever. RISC OS being run through the Acorn RISC Machine or the ARM processor, and so far; over 10 billion units of ARM processors have been sold.
Currently, the market is filled up by version 5 of the RISC OS, which was built specifically for the Castle Iyonix computers. Apart from RISC OS lineup, we have specially developed products that are capable of running these OS’. One such product is known as Beagleboard, an essential component of the entire mechanism.
The Beagleboard is slightly different at many levels, mainly because of its specifications. If created as a separate unit, the Beagleboard is capable of performing functions on its own, on the basis of a small CPU, a DSP PowerVR Graphics unit, 256 – 512 MB RAM and a RISC or Linux OS on it. In other words, the Beagleboard is like a small self contained PC.

I read it but I'm afraid I rather thought it was a parody written by a mildly dyslexic and somewhat disgruntled ex-RISC OS fanatic. |

Aside from visitors chuckling at the "journalism", it looks as if the site's also had recent difficulties in following Google indexing advice. |
