(There's even a BBC Micro involved.)

Have you read some of the comments about the guy burning his hand in 1000 degree water? I hope they're joking...

Those comments are either intentionally ironic, or from people who have a bug-ridden sense of humour.

I must admit, my BS detector went off before I realised it was a joke. I think the periodic table was what clinched it for me, up until then it was repeated wtf?'s.

I found the link on the Pharyngula blog, it's worth checking out, if you have the time.

There were clues long before then. I started giggling just after the voiceover mentioned the subject of the episode was water, when it showed someone's hand in front of a series of brown bottles with various labels on them - they were a bit 'vague' for bottles in a lab.

Watching it again, because my memory's not as good as it was last week.

The first was acid and although I'd expect the label on a bottle of acid to declare the type of acid, it could have been aimed at the really young who don't understand this stuff yet.

But then we got to 'brass aqua' and I thought 'WTF?' - if it was that basic, I'd expect the substances to be something I recognised, but I've never heard of this. I still didn't quite realise it was a joke, though. (I suspect brass aqua is a joke in its own right that I just don't recognise/get).

Then 'poison' and I started to suspect it was a joke.

The giggles started when it got to 'Shampoo' and then 'Conditioner'

And as I sit here typing this, I'm also thinking it sounds like I overanalysed it - but bear in mind all of this was in a matter of seconds.

There's also a big clue at the start that I didn't spot before; when they show the woman in the kitchen and the voiceover asks if you've guessed it yet, finally saying "Correct... water." Water is the one thing they hadn't shown at all until that point. If it was a real educational proggy, we would have seen lots of it.

No.

Good, isn't it!

(My excuse is that I'm living in exile and didn't have access to British TV for the first half of the decade.)

I can't believe they got away with stealing our "Thanks ants, thants" joke from our podcasts!

They even went back in time and did it chronologically previous to our podcasts, just to confuse us!
