RISC OS, too cool for Javascript.

Has anybody had a look at this?
It looks like a pretty nifty piece of kit, has a full Linux desktop and runs on a 600Mhz OMAP3530 processor. Must say, the rather hefty 440 Euro price tag is a bit off putting though. |

There has been a discussion on the ROOL forums about a Pandora port for a couple of years, and if you look towards the last few pages you should find a post where someone has got it up and running, and posted pictures to his own site. [scans through]:

Don't go buying one expecting a polished, complete port, though - it's still at a tinkering stage. |

And don't go buying one expecting it to be shipped any time soon - I ordered mine when they started shipping the first batch (around July last year?), which means I'm somewhere near the end of batch 1/start of batch 2. But the consistent production problems since then mean that they haven't even finished producing batch one yet, so I'm currently expecting to receive mine sometime near the start of the new year when they'll be fully set up with the new production company.
Whether this new production company is going to be any better than the old one, only time will tell.

I was aware production was a bit slow, but I had no idea it was that bad. The website only allows you to pre-order a unit, so I'm probably going to sit back until there comes a time when production and sales are flowing quite nicely. |

No, a long wait is for the people who ordered their Pandoras 3 or 4 years ago once pre-orders were first opened and are still waiting for theirs to arrive (Although I'm not sure how many are left waiting like that). |

so I'm currently expecting to receive mine sometime near the start of the new year I dreamt last night that I'd received an email saying mine is on its way! Of course, a quick check confirmed it to be my imagination. And anyway, I'm sure you're ahead of me in the queue. |

No, a long wait is for the people who believed that the Riscstation laptop would ever exist. |

Galileo OS Did you spot that the kind soul whose bot is uploading Chris's Acorns to Wikimedia Commons also apparently started a stub article on Galileo? |
