...starts recording in front of an audience this Friday. (I'm in the "intrigued" rather than "ludicrously excited" camp.)
Me and the other G&T guys did a podcast about it, which you can listen to here:
http://www.ganymede.tv/indepth/dwarfcast-34-red-dwarf-x-preview
There is ludicrous amounts of speculation though, considering we know virtually NOTHING about the upcoming series... |

Please, just let it die. Doubt that's going to happen, seeing as how well Back To Earth did for Dave... |

Things started going wrong after the first series IMHO. Seems like the old "yay! we got funding for the next series, let's deviate from what we got right".
They need to figure out how to produce a new sci-fi comedy without it being shite like Hyperdrive. Only joke worth it's salt in that was Karl accidentally deleting his virtual dad in a fit of rage. Oh and casting Kevin Eldon, I'll give them that to even though he wasn't playing a suitable character, nutjob nemesis would've been better.

RISC OS, too cool for Javascript.

As someone who hasn't watch the originals, I've found it quite funny. It can be a bit unnecessarily silly at times, but I've quite enjoyed it. |

Much better than anything in the 7th, 8th and 9th seasons.
Although I thought the last one was the weakest so far (the one with Jesus). |

I thought the last episode was one of the better ones in the series. |

Yes, definately a stronger finish, and would also agree that the Jesus one was the weakest. Overall a good return, but really needed a few more episodes. A sniff of ongoing plot (although to be fair, Dwarf never really had too much of that!) might be nice for series 11.

It appears I'm about to commit heresy, but I thought the first few episodes were better than the last few. The one with Jesus (boy, he sure was annoying) and the finale were both weaker, I felt. Oh well. At least it's not as bad as the preceding series (IX being the worst to date). |

Was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't a heap of shit like I was expecting. Maybe now they're getting the sci-fi comedy formula nearer correct UKTV/Dave will invest in more programming like this? |

How the finale was solved was very obvious early on, and some of the CGI work needed improving. |

On a totally unrelated note (well, related to RISC OS and Red Dwarf, just not to the current discussion), I was going through old Tracker modules recently looking for something specific and still not finding it, when I discovered this Red Dwarf remix song thingum from years back. Presented also as MP3 since nobody uses Tracker mods, or indeed RISC OS, anymore. Right click -> Save As to save.

Also, a version of the Red Dwarf theme tune:

I've had that as a Digital Symphony file since my A310!
Been on every RISC OS machine since then.
On both the Pi and Beagleboard. :@D |
