I'd be surprised if you could buy the animation facilities as a separate package. Surely they'd be a plugin to the main product? The other four options are reasonable though. |

Presumably, no poll idea has been submitted that is acceptable yet as the previous one is still there and 'neither' is mysteriously continuing to creep up. |

don't buy it
don't buy it and still moan about it In light of some of the comments being made I wonder why the people at AU bother. I can only assume it still provides useful income, perhaps to help get other projects off the ground as Tau Press certainly do not have all their eggs in the AU basket. I still think the state of the magazine reflects the state of the market. Think about it. Oh and yes I do subscribe to AU. |

Why should everyone subscribe to AU? Last time I had a chance to have a flick through there really was very little in there that was of interest to me, and the standard seemed very poor. When there are other better RISC OS magazines available, why pay £4.20 for the wafer thin AU? Just because it's a newsstand magazine? (Getting a bit off-topic for this forum, might want to move it to the General one) |

Nah, don't do that - imagine all those poor RISC OS enthusiasts just dying to give their opinion, but find, on return from their 2 week winter holidays that they can't!
I presume you made that comment out of irritation at people who vote repeatedly, but once everyone has voted, even that sort of poll flooding behaviour can only influence the results marginally, so I say  s to it!

I must admit, I do think everyone should subscribe to AU. I let my sub lax and meant to get it renewed at RISC OS 2001, but couldn't make it down. I'll send off me form tonight  Whilst I think it's understandable to criticise the magazine in some respects, I don't think it's fair to personally criticise Steve Turnbull. He's in a difficult position, he had kept the magazine alive, and he's put a lot into the community. And Acorn User used to be fantastic when he was in charge - it's only recently, presumably down to lack of time/money that problems have arisen. |
