1. The new topic poster doesn't remember which forum you were in (it defaults to 'general')
2. No swear filter!
3. The auto-linkifier doesn't seem to cope with some or all of .#%?& and =
4. IE gave this error when I tried to save an edit to a post:

line 51
char 1
error object expected
code 0
URL http://www.iconbar.com/forums/editmessage.php?messageid=16
5. The smiley list looks horrible with a 100% width table!
6. Give me time... :p

7. The new account validator throws up an error, but the account will still work (As mine does :P) See a post on the old TIB forums for info.
8. Not all upper/lower case smiley variants work (e.g. :p :P :d :D :o :O)

1. Fixed.
2. It's implemented, there just aren't any words setup to be filtered atm.
4. Works for me, will have to look at that a little more closely.
5. Screenshot?
8. That was the same on the old forums, no easy way around that.

Ta for the feedback, will have a closer look at the others on Tuesday. Keep it coming!

That's internet explorer being stupid. I tend to have the script debugger turned off, so it doesn't show those... it seemed to show them on most sites I visited - even the MS one!

Could have just been IE being silly - I'll try it again today. Update - still doing it :(

5. Screenshot?
It's not too bad, but it does look a little funny at 1024x768

Ta for the feedback, will have a closer look at the others on Tuesday. Keep it coming!
Is it a good idea to say that with me around? :P

A few which found their way into the test posting forum:

10. If you preview the message, the URIs in the text box turn into HTML with <a></a>, which they didn't do in the old forum.
11. Clicking back to go to the front page of the forums from "The Icon Bar forums" links marks everything as read, wich doesn't happen on the old forum
12. On a Preview screen it says "Posted by at ..." (ie. no username) (Edit by me: may have been fixed, since it seems to work for me)
13. Hiding both sections on the front page then trying to unhide them doesn't work

And some new ones by me:

14. You get a 'linktothreadedlist.tmpl doesn't exist!' message at the top of the page when you look at the thread in the test posts forum, and the threaded list is missing (As the error suggests :P) Perhaps a bug if there are too many posts in a thread?
15. As stated on the old TIB forums, there seems to be a problem with the new and old forums mucking each other up. Everyone I know seems to be unable to use their old accounts - always getting 'invalid username/password' messages when they try to make/edit a post. Logging out of both forums then trying to log back into the old ones doesn't work, because you get an invalid password error :(
16. Editing a post with quoted sections returns
< blockquote >< i >blah blah blah [ /quote ]
instead of
[ quote ]blah blah blah [ /quote ]
(Without the spaces, obviously :P)
17. Just spotted this one - editing this post, the top line reads 'Posted by Phlamethrower at 03:14, 19/1/2038' while my watch makes it 14:04, 10/6/2002 :D
18. There's no 'edit profile' option
19. The query counter at the bottom of the page seems to hit the red every time you post a new message :o probably OK though

Admins can't bypass the inclusion of [edited by...] - I used to correct URLs etc. but not include an editing thing so that people didn't think I was being pedantic.

Or is this a deliberate anti-mentat device? :)

BING BONG

BUG!

When you post to a long thread (i.e. one with more than one page), the "view your message" link doesn't quite work as it should. Instead of returning you to the appropriate page of that thread and #ing to your message, it returns to the top of page 1 of that thread.

Thankyou for your attention.

No, just that if it's going to display a timestamp while you're editing a post then at least make it a real one (i.e. when the post was first made), instead of a made up one.

Time to add one,
this *may* be due to using IE, but ill goto the forums and see that lots unread posts in different sections, so ill read one sectionm then go back (using backspace or extra mouse button) and everything appears to be read :|
Fixable by IB, or is this a problem for Bill & friends? :o

I've had this before. It's basically because instead of caching the page, the browser reloads the index.php page (instead of index.php?serve=cached), which updates your 'last visited at...' timestamps and therefore marks all your posts as read. The solution is to always use the TIB forums link just under the section links.

To solve the problem for once and for all, what about sending a redirect to ?serve=cached whenever the non-cached index.php is loaded?

<?php
if (!isset($serve))
{
// ... do 'last visited at' stuff ...
header("Location: index.php?serve=cached");
exit; // exit without displaying page
}
// else display page as normal
?>

That's what the old version of the forums did, but it's not a particularly neat solution, and then it's more likely that people will bookmark/link to the cached version of the page etc.

Got a new one for you ;)

21. You can still post to locked threads (e.g. http://www.iconbar.com/forums/viewthread.php?threadid=2065 ), by ripping a post ID out of the threaded list and sticking it on the end of http://www.iconbar.com/forums/reply.php?messageid=

Either that or the thread isn't meant to be locked, and is just broken. Or the thread locking wasn't finished in the first place.

Anyway, there's still something which needs fixing about it :P

And add an edit profile option while you're at it too :P

I've got an even worse one now! :o

22. Similar to above, you can insert post IDs into http://www.iconbar.com/forums/editmessage.php?messageid= to let you edit any post, even if you're not a moderator!

You'd better check that people can't read the staff forum(s) using these techniques as well. I would check myself, but I obviously don't have any thread/post IDs to test ;)

[Edit]

I started looking myself using viewthread.php, then decided to stop incase I found a staff thread and it included something I wasn't meant to see :o

I also tried viewforum.php?forum=staff, but either the forum isn't called 'staff' or it is hidden.

While, erm, 'exploring', I found the following:

23. The 404 page has a link to the old forum, not the new one

[Edit]

24. If you reply to a multi-page thread then use the 'Vie your reply' option, then it sends you to the first page of the thread rather than the last (Or somewhere in the middle if you've edited a post)

Plus Incutio.com isn't valid XML :P
