Ten years late, but I've just discovered Doom I'm trying to compile it on an Iyonix, with little success. I have a working GCC, and I've read all the docs and the guide on this site, but I'm now totally confused.... I'm having problems (I think) with libraries, and I suspect I might need a program called "as" (which is a right b****r to search for ). Anyone have any advice or tips? Has anyone else managed to compile it OK? |

"as" should come with GCC, but I don't think it's added to run$path by default. Have a poke around in !gcc.bin and you should find it in one of the multitude of subdirectories. |

Ah yes, it's in bin.arm-riscos-aof.3_4 Many thanks ... clearly I couldn't find my own as with both hands. Now to work out how to add it to Run$Path in the proper way.... !gcc.!run is a bit fearsome Best, Chris |

OK, it now compiles successfully, including the assembler stuff -- I needed to change the makefile slightly to use gcc rather than calling as directly (it's in the docs too -- there's so much there I missed it. My fault). But now it won't link drlink complains it can't find o32.doomdef. Which is certainly there.... |

Calling "Paulus Muad' Dib" (ahem): Got your email about DIY Doom on 23 Dec and replied, but haven't heard back. Did you get it? Chris |
