Well, there's the mining simulation I'm very slowly working on, which will probably be of no interest to anyone, and even more vapourware than a lot of other things that never made the light of day. Probably the most interesting bit of it is the landscape generator, which, if I ever get it working, will include rivers and streams following semi-realistic valleys with semi-realistic ridges between them (over a small area).

Don't get too excited, though.

Not really. There aren't any screenshots, because all I've done so far are very basic and crude trials. I've a very nice looking landscape, but that's a real one, so looks rather better than anything that the program will produce smile As I hinted, It'll be pretty miraculous if anything ever comes of this.

The idea is for a half-realistical geological model (need by brother here, since my geology knowledge is far too simple to create realistic-looking mineral veins), and to let the player try to find them and mine them profitably, probably using 19th century technology. Exciting stuff, eh? Anyone who's wandered around the Lake District a lot will have some idea of what it might be about.

I could always pretend http://www.3dfrontier.fsnet.co.uk/coniston contains screenshots :-)

Is there going to be a TEK review published sometime soon (please)?

Also if anyone out there as written a review for a magazine, I'd quite like to see a copy of the text to find out what people liked / disliked. Copyright permitting that is ...
