Hi
Just found a website with some great arcade machines for home use, seems to have loads of games and uses MAME software.

Site can be viewed at www.mamestar.com

My question is,

Has anyone got a MAME cabinet at home.

Are they worth it.

Thanks in advance Arcade gamer

Hi,

My friend has a MAME cabinette at home.

It just basically a coffee table which has a PC in it. When you turn it on it boots directly to a menu which you can select one of several hundred games to play.

The cabinette is like the old pub table - it great fun to play and a great feature in him home.

One point to note is that his cabineete is just a PC running MAME with some preloaded game roms. I downloaded the same and more on my home PC. The only difference is that he has a nice nostalgic cabinette.

He was told that he could upgrade it and download more ROM for it - but if he did the company that supplied would not give him any support etc - so he was on his own.

I can try to find out where he got it from if you want?

Hi,

He got the machine from someone called Mr Coinops who's mobile is 07952 153651

I'll see if I can find his email...

I don't think he has a web site (or at least I could not find it).

Kevin.
