A Proton is a type of particle in the Baryon family (so is a Neutron). Baryon's are relatively 'big' (about 2000 times the mass of an electron). They are made up of so-called elementary particles called quarks. And electron itself considered an elementary particle (of the lepton family). The only way in which a Proton can be considered the opposite of an electron is in terms of charge. |

A positron is an anti-electron, by definition the oposite of an electron. It is a 'positive electron'. A Proton is an entirely different kettle of Quarks... |
