Despite TIB's distancing itself from RISC OS, it still is one of the primary (and only) sources of RISC OS-related information and help around. Marging Comms into the General forum was a major mistake. Networking issues are one of the most important things for any RO users nowadays, since apart from nostalgia and old games that's the main area of focus. Some of the other forums don't matter so much (Graphics, DTP) but I think it's important to keep networking issues seperate.

It was :monkey:'s idea :P

Anyway, we can restore the old forum sections & thread locations from a backup if there are enough complaints about the new grouping.

I take the basic point. Although the forum sections were meant to reflect what the new site is going to post articles about - and extend according to what the site ends up covering. (I'm still hoping for a Mac forum section, myself...)

Maybe we need more networking articles :P

We got basically no traffic in the comms forum. It makes no sense to have a whole forum sitting idle.
It also makes things harder to find, because people have to go through multiple half-empty forums to find what they're looking for.

And since when is forum structure anything to do with "Bad layout"?

Yeah I wanted to change that as soon as I posted but there's no way to edit the thread title :(
